The "Let them" theory is an interesting idea. It would be great to learn how to do it, especially in connection with your adult children. It's so unbearably hard to resist lecturing them. We'll never see the world in the same way, yet it's so tempting to try and control them. Maybe because this is what you've been doing for 20+ years. And now you should stop. But where is the brake?

Yep, you have to be very careful - I do sometimes 'speak my mind' but almost as a joke, knowing it its not helpful - but you cannot do that very often - the joke wears thin very quickly!

The 'Let Them' theory sounds interesting, I'll check it out! As for authors reviewing other author's books, it's a tricky one. As an author myself, it's really really HARD to get your book seen, and therefore generate sales, among the sea of books out there. A little boost from a bestselling author is hope for that all important visibility 😁

Really useful perspective Jane and I totally get that as I do love following favourite authors reading journeys!

So glad you are enjoying too Carina - I forgot to mention in my review that we laugh during it because the male detectives all have a terrible habit of standing around in their suits at dangerous moments on crime scenes with their hands in their pockets. This is not the body language of someone 'in control' - not sure why the actors are choosing to do this, maybe it is an ironic detail - they are choosing to behave as 'hustlers'? Have you noticed this?

Ouch, I have to admit I'm really lousy at details, so sadly no 😬
