I am Alison Gibb an interiors and lifestyle journalist, I am here to talk about style and our search for identity.

I was born and brought up in London. I had a tricky childhood, I was born in a prefab in North London and when I was three we were moved into a beautiful council flat in Bayswater. My parents were troubled though and divorced when I was nine and died when I was 21, but they were very loving and fun gave me a great start in life.

I was very adventurous and went to art school in Glasgow and travelled a lot, but underneath, I knew that I was very lonely actually. I married the love of my life when I was 27 and I can honestly say we lived happily ever after. My husband is a photographer, we have two beautiful children, who are very grown up now and we run a business together creating features for interiors magazines. I write a blog about our work together, you can find out more about it on my website.

I also work as an artist, it is hugely important to me, it really keeps the gremlins away!

I still have some remaining ambitions though, I am on here because I want to write a book about Style and Substack seemed like a good place to start and gather my thoughts.
